Dear Members and Friends,
The Sephardic Congregation family is grief-stricken over the horrific terror that claimed the lives of 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Together with the rest of the Jewish people, our community stands with the Pittsburgh Jewish community during this time of grief and tragedy, and offers its deepest condolences and prayers to the families of the victims.
We also salute the brave law officers who apprehended the murderer and pray for the speedy recovery of the officers who were wounded, together with the other injured victims.
While federal law enforcement and Homeland Security have indicated that there is no information to suggest additional safety threats, we remain attentive to security concerns and review our safety protocols on an ongoing basis.
We are currently reviewing our emergency and crisis plans, determining what additional security is needed, and will communicate to the Sephardic Congregation community any new developments.
May Hashem comfort the families of the victims and the entire Pittsburgh Jewish community, and may all of our communities know no further sorrow.
Rabbi Hertzel Hillel Yitzhak
